Business Blogging…is it important?

Is blogging helpful for business?  Should I do it?  How should I blog?  Are you asking yourself these questions?

If so you are in the right place.  I will be sharing with you my personal experience with business blogging.  This originally

became something I wanted to blog about because of an automotive dealer I was speaking to regarding Search Engine Optimization.  He was

very passionate in SEO but had very little direction.  I always suggest starting with a blog.  Trust me it’s worth it!

Lets get started….Is blogging helpful for business?  The answer as you guessed is “YES!”  As we already know, people buy from people

they a) trust and b) like.  A blog is a great way to brand yourself and build trust in your target network.  If you do this correctly you

can accomplish all of these goals.

5 Common Misconceptions About Online Presence

I speak with people every day that give me a list of excuses why they don’t want or need a website.  Why all the excuses?  Doesn’t everyone have a website?  In this day and age if you are not online promoting your business you are invisible to the masses.  My wife is a hunter.  She will shop online for days to save $1.  If you are not online she will never find you.  You are going to laugh at this one….”I am too busy for a website”.  Really?  People have the misconception that a website is a lot of work.  Well, they can be! You can have two types of websites.  A static website is a site where the text never changes.  These are great for beginners and those that are too busy.  The other option is dynamic site with changing content.  A dynamic site can be updated by you on a regular basis or you can use technology to rotate information on your homepage.  So why is this so important?  People want to come back to your site if it is important to them but if they never see it getting updates they won’t come back.  Imagine if Domino’s had a static website that just promoted pizza’s but they never updated it with specials or new products.  Not good and certainly not as effective.

Here is a list of the 10 Most Common Misconceptions about Online Presence:

Social Media As A Business Tool?

So last week we announced that we have officially started Social Media Marketing.  Stephenie is in charge of this department.  We have been experimenting with Social Media for business for about 6 months.  We have learned the do’s and don’ts.  So the question I get asked a lot is “Why don’t I just have my receptionist do it?”.  Great question by the way because that’s what I would have recommended months ago until I have seen some disasters happen.  First and foremost I know you probably love your receptionist but what if she quit or got mad?  What if she undid every positive thing you have accomplished in Social Media with one post and ruined your reputation?  Well, it’s happened on more than one occasion.  I recommend if the owner can’t do it then it needs to be outsourced to a company that you can trust.  Your Social Media Property is probably more important than your sign out front or even possibly your testimonies.  It doesn’t matter what type of business it is, Social Media is growing at rates that most Online Marketers can’t even keep up with.  We currently maintain 5 Twitter accounts and 6 Facebook accounts.
